This is the reference page maintained by the Secretary of State's Office for the two citizenship referendums and the concurrent ratification of a constitutional amendment held in July 2008.
The following prospective citizens have been reported by the Immigration Minister as having followed all requirements of the Immigration Code, as provided in section 2(f) of that Code, and are thus presented to the people of the Talossan Republic for their endorsement as new citizens.
1. TOMÁS CASTIGLHÔN
Tomás's brief biography and "What Talossa Means To Me" essay can be found here.
2. MILÁN AGOGÑHVÜR
Milán's brief biography can be found here. Milán's application is sponsored by citizen Davïu Rôibeardét, and accordingly the requirement for an essay has been waived under section 2(e) of the Immigration Code.
The following referendum on a Constitutional Amendment will be carried out at the same time:
Do you support the passing into law of 7RC5, the Senäts Activation Amendment?
This act repeals the current requirement that five provinces must have seven citizens before the Senäts will be activated, and replaces it with one that all provinces should have seven citizens - which would mean under our current arrangements, all three of our current provinces. If this amendment passes, given current population figures if both new citizens are accepted, this would mean that if one further citizen immigrates to Florenciâ province, the Senäts will be automatically activated and elections for a Senator from each Province will be called.
These referendums will be run according to the Elections and Referendums Code of the Republic, using the BallotBin software.
