The following nominations were received for the position of President of the Republic (in alphabetical order by family name in Talossan):
I will remain a president for all of Talossa, above factional strife. I want us to be both proud and humble, to remain true both to the vision of Talossa as a superior country and to the ideal of open-mindedness. Our values should be: Nationalism without chauvinism, Tradition without stagnation.
I will be a President who is carefully proofreading the laws that he has to sign for promulgation. With the assistance of the governments I will try to increase immigration. I hope to complete the long-time project of the nationalisation of our webspace, and that I won't be an embarrassment.

The following referendum will be held at the same time as the Presidential election:
Do you support the passing into law of the Northern Provinces Reclamation Bill?
(This bill would declare that the Talossan Republic claims the whole territory of the pre-2004 Kingdom of Talossa as its territory, from Edgewood Avenue to the Milwaukee River, including the three northern provinces that were not claimed in the Revolution.)

Both the election and the referendum will be carried out by BallotBin. The voting period will begin at the beginning of 16 May 2008 and end at the end of 29 May 2008, Talossan Standard Time. All currently registered voters will receive further details via email.
The voting will be carried out according to the Elections and Referendums Code.
